Byblos Cafe & Lounge @ TREC KL
A contemporary cafe & lounge named Byblos is located at TREC, The Hive, which is the same location as Zouk KL as well as the new Le Noir KL. The interior of this Mediterranean & Lebanese Cafe & Lounge is really nice and chilling.
The staffs are very light-hearted and warming and they always take care of customers’ satisfaction.
Byblos is a new Mediterranean/Lebanese concept in Kuala Lumpur that aims to put a new spin on Lebanese cuisine.
Byblos is the name of the most ancient in city in Lebanon, and by all possibilities, the world. It is a city steeped in history, and its origins can be traced as far back as 7000 to 8000 BCE.
The outdoor seating is next to a garden and it’s very relaxing at night where you can have Shisha/Hookah and chit chat with your friends.
By looking at the environment you might think that it’s a very expensive restaurant, but looking at the menu, the foods and drinks are nicely priced at an affordable standard.
There are several food menus from Cold Appetizers to Hot Appetizers, Mixed Grill to Raw Meat, all sort of Mediterranean and Lebanese foods you can find it here.
The menu contains traditional favorites such as Hummus, Moutabal, and Tabbouleh, honed and perfected from over two decades of cooking and made all the more distinctive through the use of the freshest organic ingredients.
Other items on the menu include Shawarma, Falafel, oriental lamb hot breads and desserts, all of which are homemade and prepared fresh daily.
The drinks menu include soft drinks, juices and coffee.
Not to forget, they also serves alcohol beverages for weekend party goers or a night meeting with friends and colleagues!
I had a luncheon at Byblos and something to mentioned here is the lunch promotion which is really worth it!
The luncheon menu that I had:
- Hummus
- Moutabal
- Tabbouleh
- Falafel
- Mixed Pastries
- Mixed Grill
- Byblos Dessert
Hummus (RM 13)
Mashed chickpeas mixed with tahini or lemon juice, topped with olive oil.
Moutabal (RM13)
Minced eggplant mixed with tahini paste and lemon juice, topped with olive oil.

Tabbouleh (RM25)
Fresh parsley, tomatoes, onions and burgul wheat topped with lemon, olive oil and spices.
Tabbouleh is the salad, serves together with the cold appetizer Hummus and Moutabal.
Falafel (To Go – RM9, To Dine in – RM12)
Deep-fried minced fava beans and chickpeas, served with tahini sauce and condiments.
The Tahini sauce is in the glass container, and please have the falafel together with the sauce, it’s really amazing!
Mixed Pastries (RM 24)
Assortment of cheese rolls, kebbe kras, sambousik and spinach fatayer.
The kebbe kras, which is the one deep fried in brown colour is really good!! High recommended!
Mixed Grill (RM 49)
Grilled beef tenderloin cubes, marinated chicken breast and minced lamb served with hummus, garlic sauce, tomatoes, pickles, onions and French fries. (4 skewers)
This can be shared within 3-4 pax, the grilled chicken is really tender and the beef is really moist & juicy, here I must mentioned the Lamb is really really well done!
Byblos Dessert (RM 16)
Mouhalabieh, layali loubnan and chocolate custard.
Do you need more description about dessert? I mean who doesn’t love dessert right!
Homemade Mint Lemonade (RM 14)
Laban Ayran (RM 13)
Ayran is so called yoghurt drink, I really missed this after my trip in Turkey, but only recommended to those who really loves yoghurt, if not you won’t fancy Ayran. 😛
Good News: Byblos will be having a buffet every night during the month of Ramadhan, for RM 59 nett/pax.
Overall rate: 5/5
(Worth trying for a good Mediterranean & Lebanese Cuisine)
